Direct air capture is the removal of CO2 directly from air via technology – an approach that is essential as a means of mitigating climate change. Climeworks has developed such a technology, which captures the CO2 through an adsorption-desorption process.
Leading studies indicate that by mid-century 10 billion tons of CO2 will need to be removed from the atmosphere every year.
